F.A.Q.

1. How long have you been pet sitting?
Piper's Pets has been in existence since the summer of 2004, when I  (Liza)
realized that I wanted to focus on caring for special needs pets.    Before that, I
worked for a large, well-established pet sitting service in Raleigh for about a year.

2.  Do you provide references?
Yes, we are happy to provide references after our initial "get to know you visit."  In
the meantime, though, if you would like more information about us please access
our reviews at the local yahoo page:
Piper's Pets reviews

3.  Does my pet have to be "special needs" for you to care for him?
No way!

4.  What do you do when you're visiting my pet?
Well, we do the things you do.  We feed your pet, exercise her, give her any
necessary medications, give her lots of love, and spend time playing or cuddling
and enjoying her.

5.  I've never used a pet sitter before.  Will my animal be stressed while I'm away?

No.  The goal of professional pet sitting is that your animal will stay in the comfort
of his or her own home in the care of someone who truly loves and respects
animals.  Your pet will be happy, well-cared for, and secure.  You will feel good
about the experience, too!

6.  Liza, you probably don't get away much, but you have lots of pets yourself.
Do you use a pet sitter if you have to leave town?
Yes.  My pets love her, and so do I.

7.  Can I call you and check on my pet?
Of course!  We want you to--and Neil (my husband and fellow pet sitter) and I will
call you too if we have any concerns.

8.  How many visits a day do you recommend for my dog or cat?
For puppies, we require at least 3 visits a day.  Older dogs require at least 2 per
day, though more may be needed.  Cats need at least 1 visit a day;  many pet
parents prefer more, however.

9.  Do you ever look after dogs who are chained or tied?
No.  Your dog needs to be contained in the house or a securely fenced yard.

10.  What about invisible fencing?
We do look after dogs contained by invisible fencing,  provided the dogs are
chipped and wearing collars with ID tags.  You must understand that electric
fences can malfunction; we cannot be held responsible if your dog escapes.
Please also understand that our hearts, as well as yours, will be broken if anything
should happen to your dog.  Your invisible fence must be well-tested and properly
maintained so that we all feel confident in relying on it.

11.  Can you share pet sitting responsibilities with my neighbor/friend/relative?
No, our insurance company (Business Insurers of the Carolinas) doesn't allow
that.  For our insurance coverage to work, we must be completely in charge of
caring for your pet.

12.  Can I trust Piper's Pets?  Will you and Neil truly be our only pet sitters?
Yes, we will be your only pet sitters.  We do not use contractors.  Pet sitting for
your critters is too dear, important, and fun for us to risk somebody else coming in.

13.  What's the best way to get in touch with you and Neil?
You can email us at:  piperspets@yahoo.com  Or you can call us.
Neil's cell is (919)233-1085.  Liza's cell is (919)395-6911.  Hope to hear from you
soon!
